This paper describes the Remi‐Irpet macroeconometric multisectoral model. The Remi‐Irpet, based on an input‐output core structure, has its most distinctive feature in the modelling of vertical pecuniary externalities à la Fujita‐Krugman‐Venables which represents the core dynamization mechanism. Our contribution first presents the theoretical background of the model. Second, we present a simulation exercise performed through the model in which we evaluate the structural impact of incoming FDIs for Tuscany. The impact analysis is defined in terms of (i) change in the overall productive capacity and (ii) medium‐term changes in prices and productivity, driven by the changes in the accessibility to labour and intermediate inputs.  相似文献

This study concerns the behaviour of steel frames protected by different anti‐seismic devices (dampers). Typical hysteretic and viscous dampers are arranged in three steel moment‐resisting frames (MRFs) having different dynamical features but are designed to accomplish determined performance objectives. The proposed devices are selected following an iterative procedure based on the use of a suitable damage functional, which has been applied to control the behaviour of the protected structures under a specific seismic record. The outcomes obtained by implementing incremental dynamic analyses, carried out on the basis of seven historical records characterized by different features, allow to analyse the improvement of the structural performance due to the considered dampers and, therefore, to provide design information about their employment. The comparison of results is carried out taking into account the dampers capacity to protect the structures from damage, the inter‐storey drifts, the residual deformations and the possible amplification effects. In conclusion, the equivalent behaviour factors for each damper type are given, with the aim of providing useful design parameters for the implementation of simplified conventional linear analyses. One of the most interesting and promising challenges for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSs) relates to the traffic congestion problem. Congestion is a relevant issue for transportation because it reduces the efficiency of infrastructure and increases travel time, air pollution, and fuel consumption. Nowadays, the most promising technology in support of ITSs is found in the domain of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs). In this paper, we propose three protocols that are able to transmit traffic information for routes of interest on VANETs without any Road Side Unit (RSU) support. The proposed protocols adopt strategies to improve the performance of packet routing based on the density and location of vehicles; moreover, they enable an interesting comparison of the performance achievable with either reactive or proactive approaches. The extensive performance results reported show how it is possible to limit the congestion monitoring overhead along Routes of Interest (ROIs), while maintaining a sufficiently high performance in terms of traffic reporting. This may be done by employing context‐aware data delivery techniques that autonomously adapt to runtime conditions. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Viscoelastic properties of nanocomposite fibers of high density polyethylene (HDPE) and organically modified hydrotalcite were studied. Neat and nanofilled HDPE fibers (with nanofiller content between 0.5 and 3 wt%) were produced by melt spinning and hot‐drawing at different draw ratios up to 20. Effect of temperature on storage modulus, loss modulus, and creep compliance were compared. Rising nanofiller content and/or drawing ratio accounted for an increase in storage modulus in the glassy (i.e., below the γ transition at −100°C) as well as in the rubbery state of non‐crystalline regions. The α relaxation temperature read‐off for the maximum of the loss modulus peak ranged from 20 to 60°C being dependent on frequency, filler content and draw ratio. Sumita model was successfully applied to evaluate the effective volume fraction of the dispersed phase; maximum fraction of immobilized matrix was observed for the composite with 1 wt% of nanofiller. Creep behavior was evaluated by fitting experimental data with the Burgers model. The addition of a small amount of well‐dispersed hydrotalcite (0.5–1 wt%) had a beneficial effect on the creep resistance of drawn fibers at room temperature as well as at 70°C. TEM analysis evidenced a good dispersion of 0.5% nanofiller in as‐spun fibers and improved interfacial adhesion after drawing. The best mechanical properties were observed for the composition with 1 wt% of hydrotalcite, due to combined effects of nanofiller reinforcement and stiffening produced by hot drawing. POLYM. The aim was to design sterile biodegradable microparticulate drug delivery systems based on poly(dl-lactide) (PLA) and poly(?-caprolactone) (PCL) and containing ivermectin (IVM), an antiparasitic drug, for subcutaneous administration in dogs. The drug delivery system should: (i) ensure a full 12-month protection upon single dose administration; (ii) be safe with particular attention regarding IVM dosage and its release, in order to prevent over dosage side effects. This preliminary work involves: polymer selection, evaluation of the effects of γ-irradiation on the polymers and IVM, investigation and set up of suitable microparticle preparation process and parameters, IVM-loaded microparticles in vitro release evaluation.

Results of gel permeation chromatography analysis on the irradiated polymers and IVM mixtures showed that combination of IVM with the antioxidant α-tocopherol (TCP) reduces the damage extent induced by irradiation treatment, independently on the polymer type.

Solvent evaporation process was successfully used for the preparation of PLA microparticles and appropriately modified; it was recognized as suitable for the preparation of PCL microparticles. Good process yields were achieved ranging from 76.08% to 94.72%; encapsulation efficiency was between 85.76% and 91.25%, independently from the polymer used. The type of polymer and the consequent preparation process parameters affected microparticle size that was bigger for PCL microparticles (480–800?µm) and solvent residual that was >500?ppm for PLA microparticles. In vitro release test showed significantly faster IVM release rates from PCL microparticles, with respect to PLA microparticles, suggesting that a combination of the polymers could be used to obtain the suitable drug release rate.  相似文献

Photofrin/photodynamic therapy (PDT) at sub-lethal doses induced a transient stall in proteasome activity in surviving A549 (p53+/+) and H1299 (p53−/−) cells as indicated by the time-dependent decline/recovery of chymotrypsin-like activity. Indeed, within 3 h of incubation, Photofrin invaded the cytoplasm and localized preferentially within the mitochondria. Its light activation determined a decrease in mitochondrial membrane potential and a reversible arrest in proteasomal activity. A similar result is obtained by treating cells with Antimycin and Rotenone, indicating, as a common denominator of this effect, the ATP decrease. Both inhibitors, however, were more toxic to cells as the recovery of proteasomal activity was incomplete. We evaluated whether combining PDT (which is a treatment for killing tumor cells, per se, and inducing proteasome arrest in the surviving ones) with Bortezomib doses capable of sustaining the stall would protract the arrest with sufficient time to induce apoptosis in remaining cells. The evaluation of the mitochondrial membrane depolarization, residual proteasome and mitochondrial enzymatic activities, colony-forming capabilities, and changes in protein expression profiles in A549 and H1299 cells under a combined therapeutic regimen gave results consistent with our hypothesis.  相似文献

This paper describes a three-dimensional numerical model based on finite volume method to simulate heat transfer and fluid flow in laser–tungsten inert gas (TIG) hybrid welding process. To simplify the model and reduce the calculation time, keyhole dynamics are not considered; instead, a new modified volumetric heat source model is presented for the laser source to take into account the effect of the keyhole on the heat transfer into the workpiece. Due to the presence of arc current, an appropriate electromagnetic model based on the Maxwell equations are also solved to calculate electromagnetic forces in the weld pool. The results of computer simulation, including temperature, current density, electromagnetic, and melted material velocity field, are presented here. Furthermore, several dimensionless numbers are employed to recognize the importance of fluid flow driving forces in the weld pool. It is deduced that the fluid flow has an important effect on the weld pool shape. It is also founded that among the driving forces, Marangoni force is dominant fluid force in the weld pool. Besides, calculated results of hybrid welding process are compared with those of TIG and laser welding processes. The weld pool depth is relatively the same, but the width of the weld pool is highly larger in hybrid welding than lone laser welding. Eventually, the presented model is validated by comparison between calculated and experimental weld pool shape. It is founded that there is a good agreement as the capability of this model can be proved.  相似文献

Substitution of constituent atoms and/or changes of crystal structure are routinely used to tailor the fundamental properties of a semiconductor. Here, it is shown that such a tailoring can also be realized thanks to a novel hydrogen effect. Four hydrogen atoms can screen the effect the crystal potential has on a constituent cation, thus generating a solitary cation: an effectively isolated impurity, so chemically different from the unscreened constituent cations that it strongly perturbs the electronic properties of the material by increasing its fundamental band‐gap energy. Such a hydrogen‐induced screening effect is removed by thermal treatments, thus permitting reversible modifications of both the “crystal chemistry” and material's properties. This phenomenon, observed in InN and other topical nitrides, should permit the development of a new class of materials as well as the fabrication of photonic devices and optical integrated circuits with distinct, tailor‐made regions emitting or absorbing light, all integrated onto a monolithic semiconductor structure.  相似文献
